As you know, not only do our teachers provide education to our students, but often meet many of their daily needs such as fresh clothing, especially underwear for kindergarteners through third grade, but coats, hats, gloves, and other necessities.
Over the past twenty (20) plus years, I have personally worked with the principals of Mount Rainier Elementary and Thomas Stone Elementary to meet their needs. The needs are greater this year because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Parents are struggling to get their children ready for school, and the increased pricing of clothing, school supplies, food, and rent has made it very difficult for parents who have been laid off from work, struck with COVID-19, or otherwise make less than sufficient income to meet their ever-increasing needs.
Quite a few school supplies have been collected, but more are needed and would be greatly appreciated.
