County Executive Baker Accepts Applications for At-Large Appointment to Prince George’s County Board of Education
Applications are due by close of business on July 27, 2015
Upper Marlboro, MD – To fill the vacancy created by the expiration of the term of Dr. Daniel Kaufman, County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III is now accepting from residents who are interested in serving as an At-Large appointed member of the Prince George’s County Board of Education. Appointments to the Board of Education are the result of the school governance structure specified in Chapter 147 of the 2013 Laws of Maryland (House Bill 1107).
The County Executive's appointment for the At-Large member must demonstrate a high level of knowledge and/or experience in the area of management. The appointee must possess a high level of knowledge and expertise concerning the successful administration of a large business, nonprofit organization, or government entity. The appointee, who must be a County resident, will serve a four-year term. “At-Large” is a designation for Board of Education members who are appointed to represent the entire County and not restricted to a Board of Education District.
