Mount Rainier's Census Count April 1, 2020!

Mount Rainier, WE are not dragging the bottom on the CENSUS, but we are still down the latter.

LET'S get that number up before MIDNIGHT. We are at 31.6!

I will update right after MIDNIGHT if I don't fall asleep.

OKAY, so I went to sleep. The numbers did not change. So here goes:

Mount Rainier 31.6%
Bladensburg 31.0%
Brentwood 31.7%
Colmar Manor 36.3%
Cottage City 36.0%
Hyattsville 32,2%
North Brentwood Maryland 36.7
College Park 26.9%

HELP OUR CITY. Please get that Census completed.

NOTE: In 2010, Mount Rainier hit 64.5%! We CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.

Big Shout to Some of My Supporter During Covid-19 Crisis

This morning, I just have to shout out to a few people who have been standing with me during this Convi-19 crisis. They have stepped up their support with food, water, visits, transportation, medical services, and help for our seniors.

Chief Anthony Morgan and the Mount Rainier Police Department
Caroly Samuel King
William "Lee" Miles
Patricia Page
Wanda Wheatley
Diane Dunsmore
Ernest Wheeler
Robin Bliss
Jack Priestley and the CERT Team
Dr. George Askew
Ms. Gloria Brown

These are the times when THANK YOU just does not seem adequate, but it is all I can offer. Each of you ROCK in my book, and I know those that you helped and are helping are forever grateful!

The CERT Team is still accepting food.

Lisa Lincoln and her team at CAFE are setting up a food pantry in the Queen Manor Apartments area. Here is what Lisa had to say:

CAFE is working to set up a food pantry for those in need. We had hoped to have it outside so people could visit it 24/7, but understand insurance concerns. So, we will be at the door pantry (not letting anyone in, but they can see inside and make requests) located at CAFE in Queens Manor. We see this as a partnership: people in need from this community could come to CAFE between 5 and 6:30pm on Mondays and Fridays. IF we ever have unserved meals, we can donate to CERT. IF CERT has extra donations, we can add them to our pantry.
I will be posting more information as it becomes available. THANK YOU, Lisa and the team.
