FROM: Regional Emergency Planner Office of Emergency Management Prince George’s County, Maryland

Good Morning Municipal Partners,

Below is your weekly weather brief from the Prince George’s County Office of Emergency Management.

Monday July 20, 2015 will be very similar to yesterday with high’s in the mid to upper 90’s and heat indexes pushing up to 105 degrees.  A heat advisory is in effect for Prince George’s County from 12pm to 8pm.  Information on County Cooling Centers can be found at this link: http://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/sites/EmergencyManagement/Resources/CoolingStations/Pages/default.aspx

Tuesday should begin hot, however a cold front will be pushing through the region by the evening, creating widespread scattered thunderstorms.  These storms are not expected to be severe and should diminish by sunset.

Wednesday through the weekend will be cooler and less humid, with highs in the 80’s to possibly 90.  There is a slight chance for thunderstorms on each of these days, though they are not expected to be severe.

Please contact Henry Cauley if you have any questions and continue to monitor our social media sites (links below) for updated weather  information and tips on how to beat the heat.
