Consider
volunteering. It is one of the ways that you can
support your City, and be in the know about elections within our boarders.
Have you voted in City elections? Only voted at one of
the schools in the City? Then you have NOT PARTICIPATED in a City election, IF
YOU HAVE NOT VOTED at City Hall or the Potts building! If you voted at Thomas
Stone Elementary school or Mount Rainier Elementary School, you ONLY voted in either
a federal, state or county election.
Your Mayor, Malinda Miles, is elected Citywide to
represent all residents in the City.
Jesse Christopherson and Jacqlyn Riposo (recently
appointed) are your Ward 1 representatives.
Councilmembers, Brent Bolin and Bryan Knedler (recently
appointed) are your Ward 2 representatives.
Councilmember Jacqlyn Riposo's seat will be up for
election (four year term) on May 4, 2015.
Councilmember Bryan Knedler (two year term because of the
resignation of former Councilmember Ivy Thompson), and Councilmember Brent
Bolin seats (four year term) will be up for election in Ward 2 on May 4, 2015.
That's right, three of the four Council seats will be up
for election on Monday, May 4, 2015. YOU have the opportunity to RUN for these
seats, serve on the Election Board, AND VOTE for the candidates seeking to
represent you.
If you are registered to vote in PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MARYLAND, YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED TO VOTE IN
MOUNT Mount Rainier, Maryland!
