Door-to-Door Vendors are REQUIRED to Get a PERMIT FROM MOUNT RAINIER'S CITY HALL!

It’s the winter time, and a PRIME TIME for unscrupulous persons to prey on the young, the elderly and others.  In the past few days, there have been solicitors in the neighborhood talking about energy savings, and replacement windows.  Neither had been to or received from City Hall the required permit to be soliciting in our neighborhood.  They knock on doors at all times of day and night.
A permit is required for all vendors in the City of Mount Rainier, including all vendors soliciting door-to-door.
REMEMBER:  It is better safe than sorry!  Once you let them in, you open yourself to an unsafe environment in your own home.  No City perm.  No entry.  Safety is key.   Ask to see their credentials, the City’s Permit and the name of the company they are representing!

Ask them to show you their City issued permit when they arrive at your door. The City does NOT have a citywide permit with any vendor.  If they do not show the City issued Permit, do not allow them to enter your home.  Call City Hall and/or 301-985-6565 and alert our officers of their presence in the community so that they can come out and investigate.   Have additional questions?  Please call City Hall at 301.985.6585.
NO PERMIT!  NO DOOR-TO-DOOR VENDING OR SOLICITATION!
